Standards that Identify

Logistics Numbers

Logistics units such as cases and pallets are how goods get stored and shipped around the world. To do this effectively and efficiently, companies use GS1 logistics numbers to identify and manage them

Global Trade Item Number (GTIN-14)

Often referred to as the “case GTIN”, this is the 14-digit number that is used to identify trade items at various packaging levels. When you're packaging your retail items for distribution, this is the standard to turn to for that unit

Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC)

The SSCC can be used to identify a logistic unit, which can be any combination of trade items packaged together for storage and/or transport purposes; e.g. a case, pallet or carton. For more information about how to use our SSCC Standard, click here
