Richard Manaton, Chief Operating Officer retires after long-standing service

In June the team at GS1 New Zealand bid farewell to long-standing staff member and previous board member Richard Manaton as he begins his retirement.

Richard was well-known to many members of GS1 New Zealand and to the global GS1 community, serving originally as a board member for GS1 New Zealand for seven years prior to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer in 2016. Richard contributed his expertise to many industry-good initiatives on behalf of GS1 members, across many domains including packaging, sustainability, traceability and master data management.

Richard brought extensive experience to GS1 New Zealand with international experience in the UK, NZ and Asia with global and leading domestic brands such as Foodtown, Countdown, Woolworths, Cadbury’s, Pepsi, Fonterra and Anchor. Richard represented NZ Retailers on the GS1 NZ Board whilst he was in the senior leadership team of Woolworths NZ.

We thank Richard for his tireless work on behalf of GS1 New Zealand and our members and wish him well for his well-earned retirement.
