Industry 'Calls to Action'
In early 2009, the four sector retailers (Farmlands, Elders, PGG Wrightson, CRT Co-operative) distributed a sector letter to suppliers encouraging them to bar code all products using the GS1 global standards - and to have them tested by GS1 (a sort of WOF for bar codes).

Primary Sector Useful Publications
- Australasian Hardware Industry Guidelines for numbering and bar coding of trade items. This is a useful resource as many of the items supplied to the hardware sector apply to the primary sector (Retail).
