ProductVault (TM)
ProductVault is a new, free-for-members service from GS1 New Zealand that guides you through the allocation of product identifiers (Global Trade Item Numbers, GTINs) to your products and product hierarchies (inners, cases, pallets).
ProductVault was designed following feedback from those new to GS1 standards. ProductVault assists members, in particular new members, to complete easily key tasks that can be confusing, including:
- number allocation
- check digit calculation
- selecting the appropriate bar code for your product
- getting your GTIN turned into a bar code graphic
We also know that unless you have an internal Product Information Management System, keeping tabs on which of your products has which GTIN allocated to it is a challenge. MS Excel does just not cut it!
ProductVault stores key information, including weights and measures and brand/product descriptions, in GS1 New Zealand's core systems so that you always have a listing of which of your products are linked to which GTIN. Furthermore, ProductVault helps you to set up data about your products in compliance with GS1 international standards. The handy export function included will speed you to assemble your data for using in electronic catalogues such as GS1net.
Find out more about how to use ProductVault by watching a short (5 min) video tutorial. Enjoy!
If you have any feedback on ProductVault, please email info@gs1nz.org.
