GS1 Healthcare Users Group
The GS1 Healthcare Users Group consists of members from the leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies, regulators, logistics operators, industry associations who all lead the healthcare industry in the effective utilisation and development of global standards. The primary focus on automatic identification to improve patient safety however other key focus areas are:
- prevention of medical errors
- product authentication
- tracking and tracing and,
- increasing total supply chain efficiency.
The Australasian Healthcare Users Group - HUG Australasia held its inaugural meeting on 25th October 2006. The group has now been operational for three years and boasts a membership of over 70 companies, organisations and associations from throughout Australia and New Zealand.
At the global level, GS1 Healthcare have a roadmap of standards development activities covering all aspects of sector requirements including:
